We use minimally invasive interventional procedures for effective and immediate pain control. Some of these procedures also assist in diagnosing pain-causing diseases. These procedures include:

  • Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty for vertebral fracture caused by osteoporosis, malignancy and pathologic fractures.
  • Spinal cord stimulator implantation at cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines for neuropathic pain, radiculopathy, failed back pain syndrome, ischemic pain syndrome, neuropathy and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
  • Dorsal Root Ganglion spinal cord stimulator implantation to target specific nerves that could be causing neuropathic pain, causalgia and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
  • Intrathecal pump implantation for treating intractable pain.
  • Discography (discograms) for diagnostic purposes at cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines.
  • Radiofrequency ablation treatment for prolonged pain relief.
  • Epidural steroid injections via interlaminar and transforaminal approaches at cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spines.
  • Selective spinal and peripheral nerve blocks for diagnosis of pain sources.
  • Cervical, thoracic and lumbar facet injections and median branch nerve blocks.
  • Various sympathetic nerve blocks for sympathetic meditated pain syndromes, including CRPS. Such as stellate ganglion block, lumbar sympathetic block and ganglion impar block.
  • Sacroiliac joint injection and sacral nerve block for sacral pain.
  • Automatic nerve blocks for visceral pain, such as upper and lower abdominal pain and pelvic pain.
  • Trigger point injection and Botox injection for various muscular painful diseases.
  • Peripheral nerve blocks and Botox injection for chronic headache.
  • Peripheral joint injections for arthritis and painful joints using steroids and or hyaluronic acid.
  • Regenerative medicine such as (PRP) platelet rich plasma and stem cell a form of regenerative medicine that harnesses and amplifies the natural growth factors found in our blood cells to help heal damaged tissue.
  • Intracept is a minimally invasive procedure, that ablates basivertebral nerve, a specific nerve within the vertebra that causes chronic low back pain.
  • MILD procedure a minimally invasive treatment option to remove excess ligament tissue and restore space in the spinal canal for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis.
  • Vertiflex minimally invasive procedure for lumbar spinal stenosis with neurogenic claudication.
  • SI Fusion minimally invasive SI joint procedure to relieve sacroiliac joint pain.

 

We also use comprehensive medical management for all pain syndromes. We use a variety of pain medications, such as oral, topical and IV pain medications to manage pain-causing diseases. These include NSAIDs, opioids, muscle relaxants and anti-anxiety medications, neuropathic pain medications, antidepressants, sleep medications, and steroids.

We provide prompt in-patient services including a comprehensive exam and treatment of painful conditions at all local hospitals.

Ancillary Services

Our on-site Acupuncturist provides an Eastern approach to restoring wellness through acupuncture, massage, and Chinese herbology.

We cooperate with several local chiropractic physicians to provide our patients with chiropractic adjustments, rounding out a holistic treatment plan.

We emphasize physical conditioning and rehabilitation through physical therapy. These services are coordinated through a variety of local providers allowing the best match for patients’ insurance plans.

Many of our pain patients also benefit from psychology. Services that can help with pain management include psychological counseling, biofeedback, and relaxation therapy.
