Ji Li, MD is a pain fellowship trained and American Board of Anesthesiology certified Interventional Pain Specialist and Anesthesiologist.
He obtained a medical degree from the Capital Medical University in Beijing, China in 1983. He continued advanced studies and research in Neurosurgery for three years.
Dr. Li relocated to the United States in 1986. He attended the University of Illinois in Chicago to complete a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology and Physiology. His internship in Internal Medicine was completed at SUNY in Brooklyn, New York. His residency training in anesthesiology was completed at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He also completed Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management within the same Mount Sinai Medical Center program.
He began practicing Interventional Pain Management in the Bloomington/Normal area in 1998. He is the Founder and Chairman of Applied Pain Institute, LLC.
Jiong Gu, is an Illinois licensed acupuncturist. He holds NCCAOM diplomas in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
He attended Shanghai Medical Academy from 1970 to 1973. He graduated and began providing care at Shanghai #1 Hospital.
From 1979 to 1984, he attended Shanghai Traditional Medicine University and graduated as an honor student. He continued his practice in Shanghai, providing Emergency Room services using both Western and Chinese Traditional medicine.
In 1988, he relocated to Bloomington, Illinois. His services at Applied Pain Institute, LLC include Chinese Traditional Acupuncture with and without electric stimulation, Massage, and Chinese Herbals.
In addition to his office practice, he provides guest lectures on Acupuncture and Eastern medicine to a variety of community, college, and professional audiences, and has taught T’ai Chi through several community courses.
Nickolas Rhoades is an advanced practice registered nurse who is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, as well as board certified in Pain Management, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He holds several healthcare certificates, including nurse researcher from the National Institute of Nursing Research, a subsidiary of National Institute for Heath.
He obtained his Doctor of Nursing practice from Bradley University in 2019 and has since held various roles within the field of pain management, including interventional pain management, research, and palliative and hospice care. He has been in the healthcare and nursing industry since 2009.
Nickolas has been a resident of the Bloomington-Normal community since 2009.
